This skill shortage could seriously impact how we each live, work, and play. Much of our region's infrastructure was built and is presently maintained by professionals who are drawing up their retirement papers as you click through this site. So who will train the next generation of professionals?
We're recruiting experts who have up-to-date skills and expertise, perhaps from their years of service in industry or the military, to complete our accelerated teacher preparation classes and teach in community college and secondary career tech classrooms. We're also recruiting high school and college students who are interested in both acquiring industry skills and teaching.
Industry2Classroom is a top-down, bottom-up recruiting and training program, designed to reach out to those who are interested in either supplementing their income or mapping out a future as a career technical training professional. We've designed a series of six 4 - hour courses that cover topics including Teaching Methods and Styles, Learning Styles, Classroom Management, and more. This program does not replace traditional academic teacher preparation, nor does it lead to a California teaching credential at this time, but it does offer practical and professional training to assist you with issues that notoriously distract, inhibit, and/or prevent subject matter experts from effectively sharing their knowledge with others in a training environment. |
